Convivial clients sought a space that accomodated gathering and play in their steep canyon adajacent yard. The rugged canyon is contrasted by a series of clean orthogonal terraces. Decks along the back of the existing house extend the interior space, while a canyon adjacent deck and pool are tucked into the existing slope. Durable materials and drought-tolerant planting blend into the canyon allowing gathering spaces to float along the canyon edge.
